Putting the “Community” in Community Theatre
Live theatre is all about give and take between the actors and the audience. Likewise, CenterStage North believes in the power of give and take with our community. With that in mind, we began CENTERSTAGE NORTH GIVES BACK, a program to raise material and financial donations for lesser-known charities in metro-Atlanta. Additionally, we started a STUDENT RUSH program allowing High School and College students with an ID to attend our performances for just $10. And we’ve also have formed an alliance with The Art Place and The Mountain View Arts Alliance (MVAA) to help improve the arts in Cobb County.
The Art Place – Mt View
The Art Place – Mountain View has been our home for more than 15 years. It is a Cobb County Facility and has spaces designed to be flexible for visual and performing arts activities — including painting, drawing, pottery, dance, drama, and more! The facility also offers gallery exhibitions, community events, theatre productions and artist markets. The Black Box Theatre, conference room and classrooms are available for rent to arts-related organizations.
Mountain View Arts Alliance (MVAA)
Established in 1993, the Mountain View Arts Alliance works in tandem with the Art Place to offer programming, events, outreach, and scholarships. As a volunteer support group, membership is open to anyone interested in supporting the Arts Community in Cobb County.
Starting in 2019, CenterStage North began selecting one charity partner per production. These are smaller, less well-known charities that we feel provide valuable services to our community. We not only collect material and financial donations, but we also strive to bring awareness to these worthy organizations. Please click on the links below to learn about our most recent partners!
